Driver Ed Class

Do you offer Online Driver Ed Classes?

Yes, we offer self-paced online classes.

Does the Driver Ed Class have to be completed to start behind-the-wheel lessons?

Yes.  Once you have completed the online class and have your learner's permit, we can schedule your driving lessons.

Behind the Wheel

When can I start behind-the wheel-lessons?

Once the student has successfully completed the Online Course and provided a valid learner permit, they may start Behind the Wheel classes.  All fees must be paid in full prior to scheduling the drives.

Will I have other students in the car with me?

We will only have 1 student at a time in the car.  This allows to work with a student one on one.

Do I need to have my own car insurance for behind-the-wheel?

No, you are covered under our commercial insurance during all behind-the-wheel training.

Are your instructors licensed?

Yes, each of our instructors is licensed by the state to teach behind-the-wheel training to all age groups. 

Can I book my own behind-the-wheel classes?

At this time our office staff is scheduling the behind-the-wheel classes.  We hope to be able to offer self-scheduling in the near future.

How fast can I complete behind-the-wheel lessons?

You will need to drive a total of 8 hours to complete the requirement for behind the wheel.  We offer 2-hour drives for 4 days to complete the requirements in 4 days OR in special circumstances we can do 3-hour drives for 2 days and a 2-hour drive for 1 day to complete the requirements in 3 days.

Where do I take my driving and maneuverability test?

In Adams County the testing location is inside the Adams County Training Center, located at 107 E. Walnut Street, West Union, OH 45693.

Can I use the school's vehicle to take my road test?

Use of the school's vehicle can be made available for licensure examination in Adams County for a fee of $75 for Teens and Adults. These must be scheduled in advance and we reserve the right to deny any request based on instructor and vehicle availability.  This service is only available at the Driver Testing Ohio, LLC, 107 E. Walnut Street, West Union, OH 45693 location inside the Adams County Training and Business Center.

Why am I being asked to verify my email before paying?

To protect against credit card fraud and automated "bot" activity, we require a quick email verification before completing payment. 

What do I need to do?

  • Click "Send Confirmation Link"
  • Check your email (student or parent-either works)
  • Click the link
  • Return to the payment screen and click submit

Will I lose my payment information?
No-your credit card details will still be there when you return.

What if I don't complete the verification?
The payment will not go through until verification is completed.

Why is this necessary?
Unfortunately, some systems are targeted by bots testing stolen credit cards. This step ensures a real person is completing the transaction and protects both you and our platform.

What if I forgot my username or password?

You can reset your username or password on our website by clicking the "Forgot your Username or Password?" link on the login page.

Do you charge a cancellation fee?

If you fail to show up for a lesson or do not cancel at least 24 hours in advance, you will be charged a fee of $20 per hour for Teens and $40 per hour for Adults.  These fees must be paid before appointments are rescheduled. 

What is your refund policy?

No Refunds shall be issued if in good faith SAFEWAY DRIVER TRAINING ACADEMY has attempted to deliver services but the Student fails to comply with this agreement.
